Pay Per Click Company – Worth The Money?
Why pay good money for a pay per click company, when you can do the job yourself? Pay per click companies will help you set up and run a successful pay per click advertising campaign. Well, for only a minimal effort, you can learn to set up and run your own pay per click campaigns. Often, you will end up running better campaigns yourself because you truly have the best understanding of what you sell and why people want your product or service.
By staying clear of the following four mistakes (assuming you are using Google AdWords) you will have a far better likelihood of being successful at pay per click:
1) Have more than 15 keywords for a given ad group is not a good idea. 15 is not a magic number, but more of a guideline. In AdWords you have a quality score. The better your quality score the less you pay for clicks. Having too many keywords in you ad groups has a effect of lowering your quality score. Basically, Google views you as not having well targeted content.
2) The keywords in your AdGroups should be as similar as possible; all of the keyword phrases should relate well to your target website’s content. One way to make sure your keyword phrases are as similar as possible is to make sure they all share the same core keyword or keyword phrase. For example, you might have a site that provide information on how to make money. You would then have ideally 5-10 keyword phrases that all contain the words “make money” in them.
3) With a low daily budget, it is difficult to tell if a given AdGroup is worth the effort. Having a high budget at the beginning can help you more quickly determine whether or not a given ad campaign will convert and whether you should continue to pursue it.
4) Although it is tempting to have your keyword bid price quite high, you should try to be competitive and pay as little as possible to get bids in the early stages of a campaign. Until you know that the given campaign will, in fact, convert and make you money, you shouldn’t pay a large amount for each click. After a while this can increase, but only after you have started making sales.
When doing pay per click yourself, instead of using a pay per click company, you need to make sure you understand the basics. Pay per click is not that difficult once you go through it a few times. It’s a good idea to put a little bit of time up front learning the ropes. Once you understand the common mistakes people tend to make you can do every bit as good a job as a pay per click company, only you won’t have to pay them for the service.
