Baby Cribs – What Is This Dilemma Facing Most Young Families? Childcare.

In our modern society, most families have both parents working. In single parent families, the solitary parent has no choice but to work. But..who looks after the children?

Parents looking for day care for their children have not many choices;

1.) Stay home and look after the children 2.) Work when your partner is home to look after the kids (Now there is a recipe for a short relationship!) 3.) Put the children into a crche, kindergarten or playgroup during working hours 4.) Find a live-in Nanny 5.) Look for a childminder 6.) Hit on brothers, sisters and parents to take care of the kids

Staying at home with the children sounds a great idea in the beginning, but then you soon realize that you cannot afford the most basic luxury items that your children want. “Other kids have them, why can’t I?” is the typical refrain. Adults as well require other adult conversation that is not about kids, and work is the place where this is most effortlessly found.

I know people who have attempted option 2, with one partner working days and the other nights. Do not even go there. Love life? Forget it, your relationship will shortly be in tatters.

Crche, kindergarten and playgroup child supervision is extremely expensive. Many parents find that over half of their wages go in paying the childcare fees for the week. Governments are progressively coming to realize that they need to do something to give tax breaks to parents to go some way to paying their child day care fees. Or else nobody will have kids and who is going to pay the pensions of all those retired government employees and politicians.

Live-in Nanny? Well au pair then. Au pairs can still be located, but are notoriously hard to rely on, and with bad cases in the press, this choice is fading away to zero for many parents.

Childminders look after your kids in the childminder’s home. All you’ve got to do is drop them off and pick them up again. Locating a childminder with the same outlook to your own on child rearing is difficult. Problems also come up when the childminder is sick or wants to have a vacation. The largest childminder troubles come to the fore when your child is ill. “She is unwell, is she? Sorry you cannot leave her here then till she’s much better again” is essentially what you’ll hear.

Finding relatives to take care of your kids may be challenging, unless you have a turn and turn about arrangement that allows both sets of parents the opportunity for paid employment.

To sum up – Do not have kids until you have 10 years’ of pay in the bank to live on until you can go out to work again.
